Most of our animals are heritage breeds. Our flock of laying hens is always changing, from old classics like New Hampshires and Plymouth Rocks, to more modern beauties like Bielefelders and Whitings, and many in between. Over the years, we have raised more than twenty different breeds! Our ducks and turkeys haven't been around as long, but we've still raised several different breeds of each. Our turkey flock has consisted of Black Spanish, Blue Slate, Royal Palm, Narragansett, and Midget White, while the duck flock has had Pekin, Black Swedish, Welsh Harlequin, and Khaki Campbell, with the Khakis being our favorites. Our rabbit herd has been mostly American Chinchilla and New Zealand, with a little Polyface and Champagne. For sheep, we started out with 2 Katahdin/St. Croix crosses and a Blackbelly mix. We have since added Dorper, Painted Desert, and East Friesian genetics.
